Arnold where are you? The place bears your name but just not the quality of it. Menu is hit or miss but priced at a point where it should always be good. Bartenders constantly change so there is no continuity of service. Bad choice because of other good tp great restrutants in TV.

I am consciously giving this supposed "fine dining" establishment a two star review for the following reasons... The two supposed top places to dine in this area are Nancy Lopez and Arnold Palmer country clubs. So when you walk into either, you are automatically expecting a nice environment. This is definitely the case at Lopez - cool, streamlined decor in an elegant upscale setting. Palmers on the other hand is like an old hunting lodge and a ratty one at that. You do not feel anywhere special. It's only saving grace is the outdoor patio overlooking the putting range. Then you are greeted with the service staff. Very very nice overall though I highly doubt any one truly knows what fine dining is. There is one older woman who definitely does stand out from the crowd. The remaining staff, however, make me feel as if I am in a Chuck E Cheese - no elegance, no savoire faire, nothing upscale. The menu is blah, blah, blah. If you love your slab of steak, you will be pleased as punch. But for those of us who prefer vegetarian options or interesting food combinations, the menu lacks foresight. Even the salads are pretty boring and standard. My ahi tuna salad was boring and blah. I could have easily been at an Applebee's, though to be fair to that establishment, which I've never been, I bet it's better than Palmers! I happen to like the house Chardonnay there at $5.25 a glass. It's a shame they don't offer more appealing selections, however, as I'm one to pay anything a glass for something great. The cheesecakes are from the Cheesecake Factory - a highlight to me. Had we known, we would have ordered one. An easy upsell for the staff who failed to mention this pertinent fact to us. The dessert we ordered was beyond blah. Bottom line, I was more disappointed by the fact this was supposed to be fine dining and it was not. Had I been going to a "normal" food establishment not expecting much, I would not have been as disappointed with my experience. Arnold Palmer should be ashamed to have his name attached unless he's not into fine dining and drinking. ***lol at reviewer who said they allowed animals here. If they do, they actually get another star from me!

Lunch at palmer legends is my favorite! Amazing grilled chicken sandwich and you will not find a better potatoe salad! Only down side is for some reason they allow animals inside to dine with their owners. Non service dogs in laps.....kind of gross.

After a few visits now , this place is on the bottom of my list for eating out. I am not a picky eater but I do have certain expectations and they haven't been close to that. Imagine cooking it an hour prior and leaving it out until some one orders it. Probably the worst rating I have ever given to anything.

Knocking two stars off for our experience tonight. Menu is absolutely in need of some revamping. Prices have gone up a lot over 3 years. I got a Mojito which had no sweetner.. it was ok. Then the filet shrimp and scallop which was fine but nothing I would order again. The red wine reduction was kind of like upscale BBQ sauce and I literally got one shrimp and one scallop. My poor grandfather would probably be giving Palmers two stars. His meal came out and not with the correct sides. Then his steak was well done when he ordered medium rare. Then when the right sides came out it was covered in salt which he has a strict dietary restriction on for health reasons. We get the bill and the martinis which our server told us everything was half off for happy hour were not. We were told due to the issues they would honor it though. That was the part that got insulting to me. I think my grandfather's meal went to the wrong table and then our server lied about happy hour. We've never had an issue here until tonight. But based on recent yelp reviews I think something is happening here. Some people at my table had really good meals and the espresso martinis were excellent. I think our next big restaurant outing will be to Nancy Lopez. We're gonna need some time to get over the meal we had tonight.

I have dined at Palmer Legends Country Club a number of times, but this year (under new ownership) the dining room impressed. I ordered a wonderful rack of lamb. The dish was nicely prepared and cooked with an assortment of veggies and a mashed potato. The service was excellent and knowledgeable. The ambiance is casual and may need to be addressed for the restaurant to get to the next level of quality. Nevertheless, the new ownership has put this restaurant on the map. I highly recommend you try Palmer Legends!

I've waited a bit to write this review. Easter Sunday 2015. The wife and I wanted to have a nice Easter dinner at Palmers. First I must say that the help was fine no complants here. Waiter came promptly over to our table and took our drink orders. Fine. We selected the roast turkey dinner. Now here is where it went bad. The turkey was very dried out not at all moist .They must have cut the turkey before hand and kept it in a warm oven which caused it to be very dry. The stuffing was loaded with salt, horrible. What can you say about string beans ? Mashed potatoes were not pleasent at all. I think I would have had a better dinner at Golden Corral , really. I didn't complain to the waiter or the manager. When I get a meal at a place that is not done well I just decide to never go back again. I don't give them a second chance to do better. I mean how can you mess up a turkey dinner?

Hard to get service on the patio...and this was on our 2nd visit. Waited 20 minutes for a drink. Lunch was not impressive. I had a burger-overlooked and dryer out-made worse since it was not served with any condiments on it. DRY DRY DRY. The wife got a salad with salmon on it. It was not a good quality salmon. Probably had been frozen and thawed because it was mushy and fishy-er tasting than it should have been.

Was so looking forward to our first time here. The place had a huge ad in the paper, trumped up by Villages employees, so on. Had a better lunch at Toojay's for lunch. Lobster was tasteless and cold. Hope I don't regret this meal. Either the waitstaff is overworked or disinterested. Sorry, Arnie, this place would be an embarrassment.

Had lunch there Sunday. Ordered the reuben. Half way through I noticed it tasted a little funky. Stopped eating it. TOO LATE. 12 hours later I'm puking and crapping my brains out. Of course it could have been the potato salad or cole slaw. My wife was fine and my meal was the only thing I ate different from her food that day. Kitchen management had better shape up or the next report is to the health department.

While visiting friend we were able to eat at Palmer Legends Country Club, this was the BEST of three we dined at, the food was superb, and the service equaled the quality of the food. You can't beat the view overlooking the golf course, wish this was in the DFW area.

The wine pours have gotten smaller and smaller and somewhat inconsistent since going to half price during Happy Hour. Not a good testimonial for a restaurant of the quality, service level and reputation of Palmers.

Good food & atmosphere.

We don't eat here often because it's very pricey. But it was our 44th anniversary so we splurged. I ordered a couple of appetizers as a main meal - fried calamari and baked brie. Calamari was fresh, nice light breading, tasty sauce. Better than I usually get. The baked brie was baked in a puff pastry and set in a nice sauce. Very good. Both were good size, especially the calamari which could easily have been a full meal by itself. My wife ordered their specialty for that day, steak and lobster. The steak was very good but the lobster was far from fresh. In fact, it was mealy. A big disappointment. Plus the string beans that came with the meal were extremely overcooked and mushy.

Very classy, yet reasonable costs for lunch. Arnie should be proud of a restaurant like this with his name on it. I ordered the Palmer Melt that was served with some grilled onions and thousand island dressing on marbled rye---- Very Tasty. My wife had the Salmon Brioche and was very happy with it---I had a little taste of the smoked salmon and it was wonderful. The lobster bisque was delicious. As I said, nothing we ordered was more than $10. A really great place to have lunch before or after a golf match---or at any time.

All Points Bulletin... Take your stomach and run over to Palmer Legends CC restaurant immediately! This meal was great, and the atmosphere can't be beat! Believe me when I say this is not your usual retiree rest stop in The Villages. Palmer Legends offers a bonafide high-end dining experience, and this stomach always says taste is at the top of the list, and this food really did taste great! Four of us dined on a Saturday Evening. Two went with the Prix Fixe dinner for two, and two went with menu classics... The Filet Oscar, and the Caesar salad with shrimp. The cooked to "medium" filet was finished with a perfectly light pink center, and it was topped with a generous mound of lump crab and bernaise sauce. Laying on a few freshly steamed asparagus spears, and surrounded by green beans and roasted potatoes, the presentation of the plate was superb. The salad was fresh and full, and the Caesar dressing was switched (at our request) for balsamic vinaigrette, which was just right and served on the side. The salad had shrimp added, and they also were finished perfectly, but there were only four shrimp, and this stomach wished for more! For the Prix Fixe, the pork marsala and the tilapia were selected. Additionally, the mussels appetizer and the chocolate trilogy dessert were chosen. The wine, which is part of the main attraction for the Prix Fixe diners was white, and it reportedly matched well with the menu items that were selected. Palmer Legends is undoubedtly the jewel of all The Villages restaurants, and if you only have limited time, please try to make it a point to settle in for a fine dinner at a fine establishment. Don't waste your time or your money at the other "country clubs" on the property. Put Palmer Legends on your short list, and go make your stomach happy!

My family and I reserved a table here for a special Easter dinner. We rarely are all together on holidays as we're normally in different parts of the country. We arrived on time and were told our table on the patio was not ready. No problem. Over 30 mins go by without anyone coming up to apologize on the wait. When we ask, we're told the diners at our table are still ordering after dinner drinks. Not sure why on a busy, completely booked holiday that table's time is valued more than ours. When we're finally seated, the waitress, Nellie, is lovely. Very personable and capable. 2 of our 7 had salads to start. Some dodgy bits of lettuce in the Caesar but nothing worth complaining about. When the mains come, half the table is served. After 5 mins, the rest of us convince them to start eating before it gets cold. After another 5 mins, the rest of our mains arrive. Nellie asks both of us who ordered NY Strip to cut in and check if it was to our liking. My nephew ordered medium well and his was perfect. I ordered medium and it was medium well to well. Nellie apologized and went to have it redone. It happens. About 10 mins later my next attempt comes out. It's completely raw on the inside. I mean blue. Everyone else at the table had finished their meal. I called Nellie back over and she apologized profusely. Then this other gentleman appears and asks what the problem is. I explain that at this point I'm done and don't want to try for round 3. That this had been already a trying experience (delay getting to table, half the diners food way before the rest, two attempts at a steak....btw.... at a place that is considered a 'fine dining steak and chops' place?!?!) and there's nothing more I needed. He then proceeded to explain that they're very busy and it's a holiday, but not making any excuses. (Sounds a little like an excuse...but what do I know?) and then said, 'well, I can remove the steak from your bill if that will help?' I think I snorted. I said 'well considering I couldn't eat it, I wasn't planning on paying for it' He then proceeded to tell me how hard everyone there works (yeah, me too. Except when I'm on vacation and trying to eat a nice meal with my family.) and again about how busy they are tonight. At which point I told him to just stop speaking. It's over. Just bring us the check for everything else. I asked to speak with the manager, which apparently he is. I work in a service business with clients. This is not how anyone, regardless if they are a busboy or a manager, should work to resolve a situation with an unhappy customer. This is service mgmt 101. Fine dining speaks to not only food but the customer experience as well. This place has failed on every level. I'm certain there isn't a great deal of attention given to teaching good customer service because they have a bit of a captive audience. People will always eat there (probably once) because during peak season all restaurants are packed with long wait times. If this gentleman represents the management of this restaurant than there isn't much hope for this place. I should have taken the hint when it was the only restaurant in the Villages that had available reservations 2 weeks out that weren't after 7pm. Live and learn. Stay away though.
